Our tourism challenge is to create a City that delivers a better quality of life for the people who live or work here. We are the agency charged with promoting the city on a national and international stage, to provide strategic leadership, guidance and advice on tourism and the visitor economy in Edinburgh, and to deliver services that attract and service the visitor and that support tourism businesses throughout Edinburgh.

Consumer marketing initiates, organises and coordinates campaigns, activities and promotions aimed at consumers. This means that we are active for international and national visitors and also residents. We want to entice consumers to visit Edinburgh and familiarise residents with what’s on offer.

Marketing Edinburgh actively approaches both the domestic and international press and organises press trips to Edinburgh to generate and increase attention on a global scale.
